Cow moose and baby calves are frequently seen in
late May and early June along the rivers. A newborn moose calf often has
difficulty crossing a river or climbing steep riverbanks after fording the
river, providing wildlife photo capturing opportunities like this one. |

Susitna Flats State Game Refuge near the lower
Little Susitna River provides nesting habitat for Canadian and snow geese,
trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes, ducks, long-legged snipe and other
shorebirds, and waterfowl. Our fishing trips offer frequent bird watching
and call listening experiences along the river -- especially during the
month of May. |
