Kepler – Bradlely Lake System near Palmer — I guided 5 guests who caught lots of rainbow trout, Arctic char, and landlocked salmon on Fire Cured salmon roe and also on Pautzke`s Balls O`Fire single salmon eggs. Most of the fish averaged about 6-8 inches in length, and the largest salmon was probably about 15 inches. Ice was good and solid and over a foot in depth.

Action was good during the entire trip, although, I`d hoped the group could have caught some larger fish. Fishing was good enough that we used up almost 4 jars of single salmon eggs along with one bag of cured roe. Near the end of our trip we spotted a bald eagle who perched in a tree behind us to watch our fishing action. Was a very enjoyable way to spend the day after Christmas.

Kepler – Bradley Lake System near Palmer — I guided an ice fishing trip with one guest and we easily caught at least 30 fish between the two of us. The vast majority fo the fish were released, but we did keep a few to eat after the trip. Most of the fish once again averaged between 6 – 8 inches in length, but on this trip we also caught several fish that more readily qualified as “keepers” up to about 12 or 13 inches in length.

We started by drilling several holes and chumming them with a soupy mixture of Fire Cured salmon roe, Pautzke`s nectar, and Pautzke`s liquid krill scent. The chum worked so well at attracting and holding the fish around the holes we had drilled, and we were catching so many fish that we never even made it back to try all of the original holes we had drilled and chummed before we started fishing. All of the fish were caught on Pautzke`s Balls O` Fire single salmon eggs.

Ice depth looked to be between 12 – 18 inches. We also saw a bald eagle fly up and perch in a tree above us to check out our fishing action. Was another fun day to be out enjoying the outdoors.
